great hotel at the price and location
The last time I went to Mexico City I stayed at the hotel Del Angel and will stay there the next time as well. I like the safes in the room as well I didn’t have to carry all my cash or passport with me.

No Angels here
The hotel is undergoing extensive renovation and there were daily construction noises, debris and dust evident. The Staff’s English was very poor at best, althgouigh they did smile a lot. The room-safe was brought to the room, after I noticed at check-in there was none in place. The bedside lamps did not work and were eventually replaced after two days with woeking ones. It took four days of requests to get a remore-control for my TV set (I DO speak Spanish rather well!). I tried to get the Desk to open a separate account for miscellaneous charges, and was told it was not possible, for my account was pre-paid - this is nonsense - I have worked many Hotel Front Desks in the course of my career (Hotel & Restaurant Administration) and it is a common practice. I was not a happy camper, even though the room was well-cleaned, the bed comfortable.
